Introduction. Adenocarcinoma of the small bowel is a rare gastrointestinal neoplasm usually affecting the distal duodenum and proximal jejunum. Because of their rarity and poorly defined abdominal symptoms, a correct diagnosis is often delayed. Case Outline. We present a 43-year-old woman admitted at the Clinic for Endocrinology due to a large tumor (over 7 cm) of the left adrenal gland. The tumor was detected by ultrasound and confirmed by CT scan. The patient complained of abdominal pain in the left upper quadrant, fatigue and septic fever. Normal urinary catecholamines excluded pheochromocytoma. The endocrine evaluations revealed laboratory signs of subclinical hypercorticism: midnight cortisol 235 nmol/L, post 1 mg - overnight Dexamethasone suppression test for cortisol 95.5 nmol/L and basal ACTH 4.2 pg/mL. Plasma rennin activity and aldosterone were within the normal range. Surgery was performed. Intraoperative findings showed signs of acute peritonitis and a small ulceration of the jejunum below at 70 cm on the anal side from the Treitz’s ligament. Adrenal glands were not enlarged. Patohistology and immunochemistry identified adenocarcinoma of the jejunum without infiltration of the lymphatic nodules. The extensive jejunal resection and lavage of the peritoneum were performed. Due to complications of massive peritonitis, the patient died seven days after surgery. Conclusion. Poorly defined symptoms and a low incidence make the diagnosis of small bowel carcinoma, particularly of the jejunal region, very difficult in spite of the new endoscopic techniques

Industrial zones are affirmed space models for economic development improvement of certain areas. In order to create conditions for development of production and business content, improve the identity and competitiveness of the municipality, increase the level of investment attractiveness and to increase employment, at the end of the 2015, Detailed Regulation Plan (DRP) was initiated for the industrial zone in Vlasotince. Given the content, character and intensity of activity in industrial zones, they are of reduced ecological capacity and can have detrimental effect on the environment. As the strategic assessment of the impact of DRP on the environment was not foreseen and due to the risks from ecological degradation of space, one of the general (project-program) objectives of planning, using, arranging and protecting the planned area is “defining and implementing environmental protection measures”.The planning process that ended with the adoption of the plan in the late 2016, in addition to the expert control which is needed by the Law on planning and construction, is followed by European Union and Government of Switzerland through the European Progress program, which insisted on environmentally friendly principles and models of planning and regulation. The aim of the paper is to show that it is possible to create a plan for economic development that is in accordance with the principles of sustainable development by integrating approach in planning production and business contents and defining more environmentally friendly planning solutions and environmental protection measures. The paper gives an overview of the planning process, the principles of definition and defined conditions and environmental protection measures that reduce and prevent the potential negative and increase the positive effects of planned environmental solutions

Exploring Possibilities of Integrating Version Control Platforms in Higher Education Through GitHub Data Analysis

    Get PDF
Working in the software development industry in the modern world cannot be imagined without integration with version control platforms. In addition to allowing copies of the code to be kept, the code versioning platforms provide the ability to control changes that occur in the code itself, so it can be determined which member of the development team made the change and when. This article aims to determine the possibilities of using code versioning platforms in an educational context to provide insights into the students' collaboration and dynamics of developing a software solution. Data was collected on the GitHub platform using the API of a public GitHub organization. Social coding activities performed on the GitHub platform were analyzed using the concepts of Social Network Analysis (SNA). The results of the analysis indicate that the teachers can use data generated on the code versioning platforms o better understand the learning process and monitor the dynamics of project work. In this way, it is possible to follow how each team member contributes to the solution, understand the individual student activities, and monitor the state of the entire project
